81. Attendance Policy
81.1. The purpose of this policy is to ensure that all employees understand the expectations regarding attendance, punctuality, and notifying the company when unable to work.
81.1.1. Regular attendance is essential for delivering high-quality services to clients and maintaining an effective and collaborative work environment.
81.2. This policy applies to all employees, contractors, and temporary staff of Architecture North Ltd, whether working from the studio, client sites, or remotely.
81.3. Employees are expected to:
81.3.1. Attend work on all scheduled days and hours.
81.3.2. Arrive on time and be ready to start work at the designated start time.
81.3.3. Maintain consistent and reliable attendance to ensure projects and operations run smoothly.
81.4. If an employee is unable to attend work due to illness, emergency, or other valid reason, they must:
81.4.1. Notify their line manager as soon as possible, ideally before the scheduled start time.
81.4.2. Provide the reason for absence and, where applicable, an expected return date.
81.4.3. Submit any required documentation (e.g., medical certificates) as requested by Management.
81.5. Punctuality
81.5.1. Employees must be at their workstation or designated starting point at the agreed time.
81.5.2. Late arrivals must be reported to the line manager, including the estimated time of arrival.
81.5.3. Repeated lateness may lead to disciplinary action.
81.6. Remote or Flexible Working
81.6.1. Employees working remotely or on hybrid schedules must adhere to agreed start and finish times.
81.6.2. They must remain accessible during work hours and maintain communication via company channels.
81.6.3. Any planned changes to working hours must be approved in advance by management.
81.7. Monitoring & Records
81.7.1. Attendance will be monitored via sign-in/sign-out logs
81.7.2. Persistent absenteeism or unexplained absences will be addressed through discussions with the employee and may lead to formal disciplinary measures.
81.8. Responsibilities
81.8.1. Employees are responsible for ensuring they attend work as scheduled, report absences promptly, and communicate changes in availability.
81.8.2. Line Managers are responsible for monitoring attendance, supporting employees in managing attendance issues, and escalating concerns to Management when necessary.
81.9. Failure to comply with this policy may result in:
81.9.1. Verbal or written warnings
81.9.2. Formal disciplinary action
81.9.3. Impact on performance evaluations or professional development opportunities
