Sign-In and Sign-Out Policy

52. Sign-In and Sign-Out Policy.
52.1. This policy outlines the procedures for employees to sign in and out of the workplace. It ensures accurate attendance records, supports safety protocols, and helps track employee presence across all work environments.
52.2. This policy applies to all employees, contractors, and temporary staff working at or on behalf of Architecture North Ltd, regardless of whether they are based in the office, on-site or remote.
52.3. All employees must sign in at the beginning of each workday or scheduled shift.
52.3.1. A signature is required at the time of sign-in to confirm the employee's presence and the accuracy of the entry.
52.3.2 Sign-in must be completed immediately upon arrival using the approved methods.
52.3.3. Remote employees must use the designated system or communication channel to register their start time.
52.4. All employees must sign out at the end of the workday or when leaving the premises for the day.
52.4.1. No signature is required when signing out, unless otherwise specified by site-specific safety protocols.
52.5. Employees are required to digitally sign out when starting a break.
52.5.1. Upon returning from a break, employees must digitally sign back in before resuming work.
52.5.2 This applies to both on-site and remote workers.
52.5.3. Failure to log breaks appropriately may result in follow-up by a Line Manager.
52.5.4 Employees must digitally sign out at the end of the workday or when permanently leaving the site for the day.
52.6. Employees arriving late or leaving early must still follow standard sign-in/out procedures.
52.6.1. Planned absences must follow the appropriate reporting process as outlined in the relevant policies.
52.7. Signing in or out for another person is strictly prohibited.
52.7.1 Any issues with sign-in or sign-out (e.g., missed entry or system failure) must be reported to a Line Manager immediately.
52.7.2. Deliberate misuse may result in disciplinary action under the Disciplinary Policy.
52.7.3 Tampering with or falsifying attendance records is considered misconduct and may lead to disciplinary action.
52.8 Attendance logs may be reviewed regularly by Management for accuracy.
52.9. Inconsistent or inaccurate sign-in/out behaviour may lead to follow-up discussions or formal action.
52.9.1 Repeated failure to follow sign-in/out procedures may result in corrective action under the Disciplinary Policy.
