51. Time Off In Lieu Policy.
51.1. This policy outlines the company’s approach to granting Time Off In Lieu to employees who work additional hours beyond their scheduled working time. Time Off In Lieu provides a way for employees to take paid time off at a later date.
51.2. All non-exempt employees who work extra hours with prior approval from their line manager are eligible to accrue Time Off In Lieu. Exempt employees may be eligible under specific circumstances as determined by management.
51.3. Time Off In Lieu can be accrued only for authorised additional hours worked beyond the employee’s contracted hours.
51.4. Breaks must be taken as scheduled. Working through breaks is discouraged, but if an employee works through a break, that time may be accrued as Time Off In Lieu with prior approval.
51.5. Time Off In Lieu accrual should be recorded accurately and submitted via the company’s Time Off In Lieu form: https://www.architecturenorth.co.uk/employees-area/record-of-time-off-in-lieu
51.6. All Time Off In Lieu accrual and usage must be approved by the employee’s line manager.
51.7. Employees must submit a Time Off In Lieu request form to document the accrued time and proposed time off via the company’s Time Off In Lieu Request form: https://www.architecturenorth.co.uk/employees-area/time-off-in-lieu-request
51.8. Time Off In Lieu should be taken within the same pay period of being accrued, subject to operational requirements and manager approval.
51.9. Requests for Time Off In Lieu must be made in advance and approved before the time off is taken.
51.10. The maximum amount of Time Off In Lieu that can be accrued at any time is 5 hours.
51.11. Unused Time Off In Lieu exceeding the maximum limit may be forfeited depending on management discretion.
51.12. Employees and line managers are responsible for maintaining accurate records of Time Off In Lieu accrued and taken.
51.13. Failure to comply with the Time Off In Lieu policy, including unauthorised accrual or use, may result in disciplinary action.
51.14. This policy will be reviewed regularly and updated as necessary to ensure compliance with employment laws and company practices.
