Domestic House Extension with Interior
Certificate of Lawfulness
Impact to Neighbouring Property
Architecture North have designed this contemporary extension to the rear of a semi-detached property in Mapperley, Nottingham. Our client sought to modernise and update their current layout, whilst adding a rear extension creating an new open-plan living area, designed with folding sliding doors and high level roof lights allows natural light to filter into the home. Concertina folding doors with return glazing run from floor to ceiling, making the doors floating above, enhancing the seamless feel from house to garden when socialising with friends and family. We designed the open plan living space to be adaptable to changing requirements by dividing the area by furniture rather than physical walls, this allowed us to open the full space up to its full potential. We carried our design through to the the Utility Room and WC which were to small rooms, under valued and disjointed from the original design of the house. Within our design we continued our minimalism design with built in cupboards and hidden appliances which gives a seamless appearance and a high impact design.
