Our studio is looking for a creative Part I Architectural Assistant to join our Nottingham practice.

Our studio has a number of different projects, at different scales and typologies. This role could potentially be working on one single project or varied projects over different stages.

This will be a one year full time contract with the potential to become permanent. 

Starting date: Beginning of September onwards.

As a member of the design team you will be involved throughout the design process. As we are a small team, we are driven, friendly, focused and agile; we forge personal relationships to understand our clients’ needs and ensure our designs schemes exceed our clients expectations. Every project is unique, as is our approach. We are a small team, and you will gain first hand experience exploring design concept, making and testing until we distil an idea to its simplest, most elegant form. As a part one architectural assistant you will be guided throughout the design process with our project team, this will enable you to develop your portfolio for your PEDR log books for educational development maintained by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).


Your responsibilities:

Your experience, skills and attributes:

  • Bachelor degree in Architecture.

  • Proactive and enthusiastic.

  • Curious and open-minded about design process.

  • Able to take guidance as well as work independently.

  • Great time management and organisational skills.

  • Able to communicate design ideas verbally and visually.

    Fluent user of ArchiCAD, AutoCAD, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and SketchUp.

  • Skilled in physical model making and using basic model making tools/machinery. 

  • Competence and clarity in communicating ideas and architectural design narratives through physical and digital tools.

  • Engaged, inquisitive and interested in innovative design projects.

  • Empathy for great design, and attention to detail.

  • Resilient and determined.

Knowledge Management

  • Attendance in continuing professional development and familiarise with emerging best practice to allow them to deliver technical excellence.

  • Participate in learning activities, keep abreast of current technological developments and regularly attend internal studio talks and workshops.

  • Share knowledge, experience and lessons learned across the team and the wider studio.

Studio Contribution

  • Contribute proactively to wider studio projects and initiatives.

  • Develop and maintain a positive and professional relationships, internally and externally.

  • Contribute to promoting the studio culture.

  • Represent the values of our studio in internal and external activities.

  • Develop and maintain positive and professional relationships with both internal and external teams.
