PROJECT BIO
Architecture North Ltd was appointed to take this project forward following the granting of planning permission. While planning consent had already been secured, the client required a full technical drawing package to progress the scheme through tender and into construction. Our role began with developing comprehensive architectural and technical documentation suitable for builder pricing and regulatory compliance.
As we moved through the technical stages, the client expressed a desire to revisit certain elements of the previously approved design. These late-stage reflections revealed opportunities to improve spatial efficiency, enhance flow, and create more dramatic and functional living environments. Architecture North Ltd welcomed this collaborative design evolution, providing strategic input and proposing several key modifications that enhanced the original scheme.
One of the most significant changes was the complete redesign of the master bedroom suite. The revised design introduced a vaulted ceiling to enhance vertical space and natural light, along with a bespoke walk-in wardrobe and a generous four-piece en-suite, also featuring a vaulted ceiling for continuity and architectural drama. In line with the client’s brief for comfort and luxury, all additional bedrooms were upgraded to include private en-suite facilities, enhancing privacy and future flexibility for family or guests.
On the ground floor, we undertook a sensitive reconfiguration of the internal layout. This included the introduction of a WC neatly positioned beneath the staircase and an improved circulation strategy that more clearly defined living, dining, and kitchen zones, without compromising the home's open-plan character. These adjustments greatly improved day-to-day usability while aligning with the client’s aspirations for a well-organised and inviting interior.
