PROJECT BIO

This bespoke new-build home, designed and delivered by Architecture North Ltd, occupies an underutilised portion of the client’s land. The project intelligently utilises the available plot to create a high-quality, three-bedroom dwelling with generous accommodation across two levels, including a fully livable basement, while maintaining a discreet presence within the streetscape.

The design strikes a careful balance between spatial efficiency and modern comfort. Above ground, the house boasts a bright, well-proportioned layout that features three bedrooms and a flexible living arrangement, tailored to the needs of contemporary family life. Clean architectural lines, considered window placement, and a modest external profile ensure the home integrates seamlessly with the surrounding context.

A key feature of the project is the extensive basement level, which includes a lounge space, a home gym, a bathroom, and a separate WC. The basement has been designed not only as a functional additional space, but as an integral part of the living environment. A discreetly positioned light well introduces natural daylight to this level, ensuring it feels open and inviting without compromising privacy or altering the visual appearance of the site from street level.

The integration of the basement was a technical and architectural challenge, requiring close coordination between design, engineering, and construction teams.
