PROJECT BIO

This project involved the thoughtful transformation of a corner plot property through a rear extension and comprehensive internal reconfiguration. Architecture North Ltd was appointed to create a more open, functional, and connected family home, with a particular focus on improving flow and strengthening the relationship between indoor and outdoor living.

At the heart of the design is a newly constructed rear extension, which accommodates a relocated open-plan kitchen and dining space. This area features full-width bifold glazed doors that open directly onto the rear garden, allowing natural light to flood the interior and creating a seamless transition between inside and out, ideal for entertaining and family life.

To improve the usability of the external spaces, the existing garage was removed, opening up the garden to make it feel more expansive and inviting. This strategic decision significantly enhanced the outdoor environment, allowing the garden to become an integral extension of the living space.

Internally, the layout was reimagined to better support modern living. Walls were removed or repositioned to create a more efficient and spacious ground floor arrangement. Key additions include a new ground-floor WC and a dedicated home office space with direct views over the garden, designed to offer a bright, quiet workspace that remains connected to the home.
