This substantial renovation project involved reworking a previously extended home that had become disjointed and inefficient in layout. Architecture North Ltd was appointed to reimagine the entire space, responding closely to the client’s bespoke brief to deliver a cohesive, functional, and elegant family home.

The original property presented challenges, with multiple legacy extensions resulting in a fragmented floor plan. Our priority was to rationalise the internal layout, removing an impractical retrofit porch and relocating the downstairs WC to make way for a striking double-height entrance. This new glazed porch provides a generous, light-filled welcome and sets the tone for the transformation within.

At ground level, we created a large open-plan kitchen, dining, and family space that opens directly onto a newly landscaped garden, an ideal setting for entertaining and everyday living. A snug, linked via sliding doors to a dedicated playroom, offers flexible space for quieter moments.

A new two-storey side extension accommodates a music room, gym, shower facilities, and a dedicated study, expanding the home’s functionality while maintaining a seamless architectural language. The upper floor was fully reconfigured to include four spacious bedrooms, each with walk-in wardrobes and private en-suites. A dramatic double-height landing is crowned by a bespoke feature chandelier, adding a sense of drama and light.
